Dubai is the jewel in the Emirate’s crown, where no amount of extravagance is ever too much. Lavish hotels, glamorous brunches, glistening malls – this is the playground of the rich, the famous and the luxury-seekers. With so many eye-catching and breath-taking sights around every corner, we can bet your camera roll will be getting full fairly quickly.
With the recent development of social media and the need to carve the perfect Instagram feed, we have compiled a list of the most Instagrammable spots in Dubai to help you get the best pictures in the city.
With a feed full of snaps from both well-known and more underground scenes, we guarantee they’ll get your friends eyeing up a flight straight to the land of towering skyscrapers and palm-shaped islands.
Colors oozing out of white sand narrating Arabian Nights is the perfect sigh to behold at La Mer. The pictures speak for themselves. La Mer have been popularly known for their mesmerizing street art and it is difficult to walk past them without clicking a picture.
No trip to Dubai would be complete without a picture of yourself standing in front of the world’s tallest tower. The Burj Khalifa, which rises above Dubai’s skyline at a whopping 828 metres, offers the perfect backdrop to any holiday snaps, but a trip inside wouldn’t go amiss, either. In particular, head to floors 152 to 154, to the world’s highest lounge, where you can also have an afternoon tea, or some cocktails and champagne.
Dubai’s most famous locale has plenty of eye-catching attractions within, making it a great place to snap a shot. There is always something to photograph here, from dinosaur skeletons to a disco-lit ice rink to a massive aquarium. When it comes to selfies though, the most popular spot is probably in front of the Human Waterfall. It depicts a collection of exquisitely carved figures diving down a shimmering cascade of water. It definitely makes for a striking image.
Decorated with soaring skyscrapers, Downtown Dubai is a sight to see. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard is a rolling avenue framed by charming restaurants and beautiful hotels. Each block offers fabulous angles and backdrops but Dubai Opera adds that filter of elegance to your picture that few other structures can. Inspired by a dhow, this building pays homage to local history with a contemporary flair. Have a photoshoot outside the building or take a special tour through the ornate auditorium for insider shots.
DUBAI MIRACLE GARDEN
Insta it with flowers! The Dubai Miracle Garden is the world’s largest natural flower garden, with over 109 million flowers planted. The entire park provides a beautiful, verdant backdrop for your photos. We’re particularly partial to the heart-shaped floral arches lining the walkways that provide great framing for any shots that you may wish to take. Try wearing a floral-print outfit when you go to the Miracle Garden – it can provide an intriguing match to the flowers of your surroundings, leading to great photos.
This place is all about uniqueness. Enjoy a beautiful view from the inside out.
Just behind JBR is Dubai Marina – a bustling area located along an artificial river that connects to the sea. There are so many skyscrapers here and so much life in this part of Dubai. Many of the expats live in this area and there’s always something going on here. The Dubai Marina is so photogenic, especially at night, it’s the perfect place to go for an evening stroll. Also be sure to head down to JBR for some gorgeous beach shots!
The Atlantis is the most famous hotel in Dubai – after the Burj Al Arab. It is gorgeous both inside and out. Head inside to admire the aquarium, and get a photo with the rays and the sharks, or put down your phone and visit Aqua Adventure for a day of fun!
Perhaps one of Dubai’s most intriguing aspects is the Palm Jumeirah, a man-made palm-tree shaped island in the Persian Gulf. A visit to the Palm is a must, especially for the view of Atlantis across the way. Though you’ll find plenty of fodder for your feed on the ground, the Palm is best seen from far away and/or above for the full effect. Some of the best places to snap a shot of The Palm in its entirety include from Atlantis, The Observatory Bar and Grill in the Dubai Marina, the Dubai Marina itself, from a helicopter, or while skydiving!
A desert safari is a magical experience and another thing you must absolutely do when in Dubai. Often desert safaris take place in the evening – from 3pm onwards, and you’ll do some dune bashing, sandboarding, camel riding, possibly hold a falcon (the national bird of the UAE), get some henna or dress up in traditional Emirati dress, as well as enjoy some traditional Emirati food and a local dance performance. You also have chance to take some pictures at sunset, which is a really nice time for photography here.
BURJ AL ARAB
The sail design of the Burj Al Arab is iconic to Dubai. You’ll get stunning views from all over, but my favourite shots are from the nearby beaches. If you’re lucky enough to visit inside, you’ll experience the rich opulence and stunning decor which make for a fantastic shot. To get a great photo of the outside, you can visit the public beach to the right of the hotel but be sure to head there early. Or visit the Jumeirah Beach Hotel or the Jumeirah Al Nasseem for the perfect shot!
